“I had fallen in my house and had landed on my right knee. Within two days it became black, blue, and other colors. I knew that I had damaged it somehow but did not know how bad. I had been sent back home from hospitals at least four different times. All of them said they couldn’t help me, that it wasn’t broken. Well, I knew that, but I also knew that there was something damaged in my leg. Finally, I got an orthopedic doctor to look at my leg. He said it was just a severe sprain which I still didn’t accept. Later that day Dr. Erik Johnson came to my room, examined my leg and told me that some damage to my leg that would require surgery. He operated on me the next day and found that the tendon from my knee to help lift my leg and to walk. So there was a significant difference from a sprain to the actual damage to my leg. Thank God that Dr. Johnson came to my room that day because the entire tendon tore from my knee. A far cry from a sprain.”
