"I was in a lot of pain with my hip. Dr. Archibald did a hip replacement. Nine months later, he did a knee replacement. My knee was in pain and was very deformed from arthritis. Now, it is straight again and I have no more pain in my knee or hip. Thank you, Dr. Archibald. I will be seeing you again for the other side." - Brenda L.

"Your doctors and staff have kept me running marathons since Dr. Niemeyer did my right knee surgery years ago. More recently, I was able to run the Boston Marathon less than 3 weeks after my left knee surgery. Thanks!" - Bryan
"I had a fall breaking my humerus at the shoulder. No surgery was necessary, but it was very painful. Dr. Prato was honest in telling me it is a fracture you can never fully recover from, but between his treatment and Carolina Orthopaedic Physical Therapy group, I'm recovering nicely." - Dennis F.
"My story is not a sports injury, but rather a worn out knee. I had gone through the regular treatment procedures of hydrocortisone shots in the knee joint, which gave me temporary relief for a while - at first for a few months. Later, as the cushioning tissue in my knee gradually went away, those treatments didn't work as well. I tried the "rooster comb" shots, and they worked briefly, but by then, I was bone on bone. The very best part of my story is the anesthesia  - the femoral nerve block in my leg for the surgery. I was not in terrible pain afterwards because it lasted for about 22 hours, and I was on the front side of the pain and could manage it going forward. I did the exercises that the home health care nurse told me to do, I did the physical therapy when I went in and at home, and I went back to work in about five weeks. I'm pain free now. I would encourage anyone considering a knee replacement to have it done instead of suffering on and on." - Debbie Y.

"I came to Carolina Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine 6 years ago with an ankle injury. I ending up having surgery and received the best care. When I began having problems with OA two years ago, I knew where to go get the best care. I have two doctors that I see on a regular basis and I know that I am getting the most up-to-date care for my OA. I love everything about this place and recommend it to anyone needing an excellent doctor in the orthopaedic field." - Helen C.
"When I came to see Dr. Parikh, I was at the end of my rope. I had unsuccessfully been treated by multiple doctors for well over a year with no relief or even a diagnosis. One doctor stated, "you just have a bad back". I was only given pain medication and was told to take it easy. I was so frustrated that my mom suggested this practice and said Dr. Parikh had diagnosed and treated her condition successfully. I am happy to report that he found the problem and now, for the most part, I am pain free. I have resummed my active lifestyle and the things I love to do with my family and friends. I am forever grateful for him. He didn't just give me an endless supply of pain meds and muscle relaxers. He found the problem. I can't tell you how good it feels to have my life back." - Tasmin C.

"My right knee had arthritis so bad I couldn't walk right. Dr. Archibald took an x-ray of the knee. We set up a surgery date for total knee replacement. A few hours after surgery, I could bend the knee with no arthritis pain at all. Now, it has been 4 weeks later and I am bending my knee at 125 degrees and walking with no pain. Thank the Lord and Dr. Archibald. I would recommend Carolina Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine to all my friends and family. Thank You." - Michael M.

"Dr. Johnson repaired 2 meniscus tears and a rotator cuff tear for me in a 2 year period. Dr. Johnson and his staff were great. He always explained the surgical procedures and answered my questions, so I would know exactly what he was going to do and what my recovery time would be. Thanks to him, I'm playing golf with me buddies again." - William W.

“I recently had arthroscopic surgery on my right knee. Surgery itself went extremely well, but several weeks after the surgery, I was still experiencing instability, pain, and discomfort (even with physical therapy). Seeing my frustration, the wonderful therapists that were helping decided to give Astym treatment a try. By the second session, I was able to drive pain-free to Charlotte, stop taking my anti-inflammatory medicine, and walk distances without having to look for something to hold onto. I highly recommend Astym treatment to anyone not getting anywhere with traditional therapy.”  – Working single mom of five
