- “My husband had a stroke on 12/04/14. After returning home from the hospital on 12/08/14, I fell in the bathroom and broke bones in my right ankle. I returned to the hospital that night to be treated in the emergency room. I was then scheduled to see Dr. Thomason for surgery. Ten days later, the surgery was completed and the healing process began; from wheel chair to walker, to cane and then physical therapy to follow. - “Eleven years ago, I suffered a compound ankle fracture. Upon arriving at the hospital, I knew to request Carolina Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine, and God sent me Dr. Thomason. He performed surgery. H put my foot back together with a plate and eight screws. After several months of healing and pushing myself, I was whole again. I have no pain, I walk and jog daily, I attend a weekly Zumba class, and I am a church organist playing those foot pedals with confidence. Dr. Prato was honest in telling me it is a fracture you can never fully recover from, but between his treatment and Carolina Orthopaedic Physical Therapy group, I'm recovering nicely.”– Dennis F.Patient Rating:

- “My story is not a sports injury, but rather a worn out knee. I had gone through the regular treatment procedures of hydrocortisone shots in the knee joint, which gave me temporary relief for a while - at first for a few months. Later, as the cushioning tissue in my knee gradually went away, those treatments didn't work as well. I tried the "rooster comb" shots, and they worked briefly, but by then, I was bone on bone. The very best part of my story is the anesthesia - the femoral nerve block in my leg for the surgery. I was not in terrible pain afterwards because it lasted for about 22 hours, and I was on the front side of the pain and could manage it going forward. I did the exercises that the home health care nurse told me to do, I did the physical therapy when I went in and at home, and I went back to work in about five weeks. I'm pain free now. I would encourage anyone considering a knee replacement to have it done instead of suffering on and on.”– Debbie Y.Patient Rating:

- “When I came to see Dr. Parikh, I was at the end of my rope. I had unsuccessfully been treated by multiple doctors for well over a year with no relief or even a diagnosis. One doctor stated, "you just have a bad back". I was only given pain medication and was told to take it easy. I was so frustrated that my mom suggested this practice and said Dr. Parikh had diagnosed and treated her condition successfully. I am happy to report that he found the problem and now, for the most part, I am pain free. I have resummed my active lifestyle and the things I love to do with my family and friends. I am forever grateful for him. He didn't just give me an endless supply of pain meds and muscle relaxers. He found the problem.
